THE BIG IDEA

With design by The Block judge and all-round style guru Neale Whittaker, a mural by Melbourne artist Robert Doble and pieces from Otomys gallery, Lavazza's marquee definitely won the style stakes at Melbourne Cup Carnival 2017.

Designed with an elevated entry, the "Palazzo Lavazza" was inspired by a fictitious hotel dreamed up by Neale Whittaker from his travels through Italy, most recently Puglia in the far south.
The Palazzo Lavazza marquee had a great emphasis on food, with four chef ambassadors – Buddha Lo, Gerald Achille, Giorgio Angele and Adam D'Sylva – creating dishes especially for the carnival.
